So today I hiked the piece from Innis Lake Road and Finnerty Sideroad to Airport Road and Escarpment Sideroad. If you are not dedicated to hiking the whole Bruce Trail, I highly recommend skipping the Airport Road part.
We started out pleasantly enough. There is a new trail piece that you can go on instead of on the road from the intersection of Innis Lake Rd. and Finnerty Sideroad. It's not on the map, so I didn't see it at first.

Poor Scruffy got caught trying to get back through the fence |
After this small piece, we were on the road, and really, it wasn't too bad. Just a bit muddy, but I think they had just graded this piece.

A very small waterfall, hidden in the trees. |

An intriguing root system. |
And here is where it became a not so enjoyable hike. Once we were on Airport Road, we met up with a lot of traffic, especially a lot of trucks. This is not so great for hiking.

A new sidetrail. |

If you look very carefully, you can see the Toronto skyline. Just remember, it is an iphone :) |
I guess it is inevitable, but I was pretty disgusted by the garbage.
I was very glad to see this sign, and I know at least the next piece won't have all the large trucks!

I'm stumped. I can't figure out what bird this feather is from. If anyone knows, please leave a comment! |
I turned back and retraced my steps to return to the car.
