13th Hike - Finished the First Map!!!

We have finished the first map!!!! This hike helped us to finish map 18 of The Bruce Trail Reference! We started at Dunby Rd. just off of the 3rd Line E.H.S.  This marks the end of the Hockley Valley portion and is the piece that leads to Mono Cliffs Provincial Park.

After a lovely little walk down Dunby Rd., we started down 3rd Line E.H.S. This afforded us a lovely view overlooking the escarpment.

We were very happy that the dogs somehow missed this cute guy!
A little ways down the road, we took a very surprising turn up into the rocks.

For a while, we went up quite steeply, and we were glad for our new hiking boots.

Once again, we found ourselves surrounded by rocks and crawling through crevices. This was such a delight because we totally expected to only be on the road for this trip.

From up in the rocks, we had an even better view.

The far end of this trip brought us to Mono Cliffs Provincial Park.

And here's a few pictures from the way back (the houses were gorgeous!).

12th Hike - Happy Sister Time

On November 2, my sister Margaret and I decided to take a hike through the Glenn Haffy part of the Bruce trail. The weather was absolutely lovely and that made for some grand photos.

We parked on Coolihan's sideroad close to the entrance from the Bruce Trail.
We found the regular trees....I will never tire of these scenes :)
         Lovely trees and wooden bridges.
A view of the Humber River headwaters from the bluff.

Again, the milkweeds were fascinating!

And finally we met up with Highway # 9 and the place where we had stopped off on one of our other hikes.

Love this lady, and totally enjoyed our wonderful hike together!

A few parting shots:
